Jamal Adams Request Trade from New York Jets

Jamal Adams has now requested a trade from the Jets. The 2-time Pro Bowler has been adamant about being unhappy with the Jets organization. The 24-year-old safety is still under his rookie deal and just had his 5th year option picked up. Jamal Adams could be a game changer the same way Minkah Fitzpatrick was when he was dealt to Pittsburgh. Jamal Adams has listed 7 teams he’d prefer to get traded to. Below are the 7 teams listed as his preferred destination to play next.

Dallas Cowboys

Jamal Adams has been very vocal about his desire to play for the Dallas Cowboys. The former LSU standout has stated he wants to play for a winning franchise. Could the Cowboys scoop up the all-pro and secure their secondary for the near future? With the ongoing discussions surround an extension for Dak, could the Cowboys afford to add another big contract? The team that trades for Adams will likely give him a contract extension.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens were arguably the best team in the NFL last year. Lamar Jackson was the league MVP and it seems like they were on their way to the Super Bowl. Tennessee had other ideas and they used Derrick Henry to run all over the defense. The Ravens have bolstered their defense, but adding Jamal Adams would be the icing on the cake.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles spent their offseason retooling their offense and getting younger. Unfortunately, they lost all-pro Malcolm Jenkins to the Saints and he was the anchor of that defense. Philadelphia drafted K’Von Wallace from Clemson and move some pieces around. Philadelphia has boosted up their defense with the addition of Darius Slay and adding Adams would be great. The Eagles fans wanted Jalen Ramsey and Fitzpatrck, so they need to pursue Adams.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers came up short in the Super Bowl a season ago. The 49ers have one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL, but the backend could use some help. If the 49ers add Jamal Adams to sure up there secondary there Super Bowl chances will go up. In a division with Seattle, Arizona and the Rams, you need all the help possible in the secondary.

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are still reeling from the trade of DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona. Houston went out and traded for Brandin Cooks, but can he be effective as Hopkins? While Cooks is a great receiver, he’s missed quite a bit of games and has a history of concussions. The Texans is another team that hasn’t had the best secondary and someone like Adams would change those fortunes. Would the Texans be willing to pull the trigger on a Jamal Adams trade? Could the impending contract extension for Watson put a damper on things?

Kansas City Chiefs

The defending Super Bowl champs defense picked up in the second half of the season. Jamal Adams would help any defense improve and that would include the Chiefs. Just like the Dallas situation, Kansas City has a quarterback that’s due an extension and that could be the issue. Would the addition of Adams make the Chiefs favorites to repeat?

Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is always looking to make their team better. Last year, they traded for Jadaveon Clowney and it worked out great for the Seahawks. Being in a division with the Cardinals, 49ers and Rams, your secondary is key and Jamal Adams would be needed. Seeing that Seattle is still in the running for Clowney to return, could they turn their attention to Jamal Adams? If I’m the Seahawks, this is something I’d consider seeing they have a history of building defenses from the backend.

Who’s your favorite to land Jamal Adams? If traded, I’m thinking it comes down to the Eagles, 49ers, Ravens and Seahawks is his next destination. Leave some feedback below and let me know where he lands.
