Top 5 AFC Teams Heading Into Week 11

The NFL season is officially in the second half and there are a lot of interesting things that have developed. We will focus on the AFC side of things with this one. Derrick Henry is injured and will miss the remainder of the regular season. Despite Henry missing the last two games, the Titans continue to win as their win streak is at 6. The New England Patriots are looking like real contenders after winning their fourth in a row. The only other team with a winning streak more than two in the AFC are the Kansas City Chiefs. The Tennessee Titans are atop of the conference with a 8-2 record. There are three other teams that have three losses this season. Tennessee has the best record in the AFC, but are they the best team in the conference? Let’s take a look and see who’s the best team now.

Tennessee Titans

When the Titans fell to the Jets, many questioned what was going on in the organization. Derrick Henry went down with a season ending injury and people thought they would regress. Tennessee is enjoying a 6-game winning with win over the Bills, Chiefs, Rams and Saints. Ryan Tannehill’s numbers have gone down, but the team continues to find ways to win ball games. The defense, especially the front four continues to hound the opposing quarterback at will. They have a 3-headed monster at running back that’s giving them enough to get by. The Titans is arguably the best team in the entire league, not just the AFC.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills were the team that many people picked to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. Josh Allen was also atop of many lists of people that could be the league MVP this season. The Bills have one of the best defenses in the league, but Allen haven’t put up crazy numbers like he did a year ago. For Buffalo to be able to take that next step, the running game needs to improve. Devin Singletary leads the team in rushing, but he only has 398 yards on the ground. When those winter months hit and with the possibility of snow, you will need a running game.

New England Patriots

Many will be surprised at the New England Patriots being the third best team, but they are playing like it. The Patriots have won four games in a row and now only sit a half game behind Buffalo in the NFC East. Mac Jones is as accurate a passer there is in the NFL. The defense is playing lights out. The Patriots defense have given up only 13 points in their last two games. The offense continues to improve and the WRs are making big plays for Jones. Look out for the Patriots because this team is shaping up for a nice run.

Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore has lost two of their last three games. The losses were embarrassing ones as they were blown out by Cincinnati a few weeks back. Last week, the offense looked horrible as they fell to the Miami Dolphins. With Lamar Jackson I’m still picking this Ravens team to be the fourth best team. The Ravens defense is still better than average. The only concern with the Ravens is the running backs and can they stay healthy throughout the rest of the season.

Kansas City Chiefs

I’ll go with the Kansas City Chiefs right here. This weekend will go a long way to determine if the Chiefs are back to form. They host one of the hottest teams in the league in the Dallas Cowboys. The defense is starting to get their swag back and the same could be said about the offense. Patrick Mahomes tossed 5 TDs in their rout over the Las Vegas Raiders. The defense have given up a total of 38 points in three games.
